Description

The purpose is to hold a knitting circle with patients'' families hosted by the Center for Families. The knitting circle activities will help to offer socialization and support to families.

Reporting Relationship:

Assignment Information: Child Life Services (Center for Families staff)

Orientation and Training:
·Volunteers complete all general onboarding requirements before beginning their department-specific knitting volunteer training.

Essential Functions:

· Responsibilities include the following:

o Keep track of inventory of knitting supplies (yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, etc.) and alert Center for Families staff if supplies are running low and need to be re-ordered.

o Organize knitting supplies in the cabinet.

o Provide socialization and support for families.

o Provide families with information about knitting.

o Help to post/distribute flyers in the Center for Families, inviting them to come to upcoming knitting circle events.

o Perform other related knitting duties as assigned.


Qualification Requirements:

· Knitting/Crochet Skills
· Must have good communication skills including strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to teach others how to knit.

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to hear well and speak clearly.
· Ability to walk, stand, or sit for a 3-4 hour shift.
· Ability to lift or carry no more than 15 lbs.
