11/12L Heme/Onc/BMT volunteers will provide support for both medical and administrative staff in a variety of projects revolving around patients including visiting with patients, assisting with events, and delivering amenities.Volunteers serve Monday-Saturday, morning and afternoon.

In conjunction with the SPCA, Animal Assisted Therapy volunteers and their dogs round on specific patient units, visiting with patients and facilitating healing and motivation by sharing the love of companion animals. Potential volunteers must first contact the San Francisco SPCA (415) 554-3061 for additional information and requirements.

Volunteers knit hats, shawls, and lap blankets for oncology patients. Please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are intersted in coordinating a donation.
Volunteers knitters share their passion and talent for crocheting and/or knitting with expectant mothers, who are patients in the Antepartum Unit. Volunteers should be comfortable knitting and/or crocheting and teaching others in small groups. Volunteers serve on weekday afternoons.

Volunteers in this role offer a supportive atmosphere to adult patients and family members by providing instruction and tutorials for training on the digital Oneview system. Follow up with families as needed to answer any remaining questions about the system. Volunteers will develop sensitivity to working with patients and families in an adult care medical setting while learning about the resources provided to patients and families at UCSF through the Oneview patient interaction system. Volunteers in this assignment should be comfortable learning new technology.
